On Jan 16 1844, Robert R. Tolbert, Wm. McDill, Thos, McDill. bound to David
Lesly, ord Abbeville Dist., sum £1000.00. Robert R. Tolbert made guardian. of Mary
Lagroon, minor. The Petition of R.R. Tolbert sheweth that many years since one
Robert Red did make a deed of a certain tract of land lying in Edgefield Dist. S. C. of
about 70 acres, adjoining Jacob Thornton and others, to Mrs. Mary Lagrone, and her
children Rebecca and Mary and at the death of the their mother to be equally divided
between the said chn. The Andrew Lagrone, the husband, and his wife, Mary, are both
dead. It is said that Andew Lagrone is in debt, and that, that the said deed of land
rec in Edgefield Dist., Your Petr, further states there is but one of the chn
residing in this dist.. Mary, who is under 14 years. That Rebecca in Newberry is
over 14 yrs. Dated this Jan 16 1844. Mary Lagroon later became the qard of

"George Risor. Will of George Risor. Probate Judge Office. Edgefield,
South Carolina.
I, George Risor, being very weak in body but in perfect mind and memory, etc, I
give to my brothers Jacob Risor, Jacob Dommick, Jacob Collins, John Lightse, John Lagrene,
and Adam Koon the lad I have raised, the sum of $1,887 to be equal divided between them.
Also I give Adam Koon a negro boy named London, one negro girl named Hannah, and
two hundred acres of land lying on Cloud's Creek, call the Bates Tract, one horse, saddle,
and bridle, horse to be worth sixty dollars, with plows and geers, sows and cows to
be given to him when he attains the age of twenty one years or marries. The other
legacies to be paid soon after my decd, I give to my son, george Risor, all the rest and
residue of my estate both real and personal. I appoint Nathan Norris, John Bates,
William Norris my executors. Dated 16 May 1816. Wit: Jacob Long Jr, John
A Kinard, Elizabeth X Long Signed: John X Risor Proven on the oath of Jacob
Long Jr. 13 Sep 1816. Same time qualified John Bates and William Norris as
