Making a Horn Comb
- Start with flattened horn plates.
- Clean and smooth the plate (if you wait until later you'll risk breaking the teeth).
- Carefully cut between the teeth. Cut along the grain, and not against it. Don't use power tools for
this (the power tools can set up a vibration that can snap off the teeth).
- "Grailing", grinding the ends of the teeth to a point.
- Polishing and Buffing.
