The preferred habitat of the Tyrannosaurus is the temperate rain forest, similar to that found along the western side of the modern Sierras. While they are capable hunters, they will scavange other kills. The Tyrannosaur has binocular vision and good, if somewhat nearsighted, motion based vision. The creature has a tolerably good sense of smell. Its hearing is remarkably good, and based in the lower end of the sonic spectrum, in what most humans would regard as "sub-sonic". Much of the Tyrranosaur's communication with others of its species, is performed by means of subsonic growls and chirps. The foreclaws of the Tyrannosaur appear small and weak, but this is only in comparison with the rest of their body. The three fingered, grasping claws are quite strong, and are attached to limbs that are significantly stronger than the average humans. Males are somewhat smaller than the female. Both genders have large, fast-growing, serrated teeth set into fantastically strong jaws. They are capable of extremely fast movement, and their combat styles reflect this. Their preferred attack is to move in quickly, snatch and engulf thier prey in one bite, killing it while chewing. They are capable of fighting with the rest of their body, but they never forget that they are little better than a mutli-ton weight, balanced precariously on two massive legs. ========= I.
