When the creature wants to travel to a new location, it takes one of its own heads into its other mouth, and now in the shape of a hoop, can roll quickly along. It has 2 long horns on its forehead, and its spinal colum is lined with smaller spikes or horns, 6 from shoulder to hip and 8 along the length of the tail, spaced about 45 cm apart. Its skin is green and black with a dry, pebbly texture. And it has a large black furred crest behind the two foreward facing horns. Besides the horns, the Hodag has long, sharp claws. It is alleged to be carnivorous, although in actuality is is omnivorous. These things come together only to mate, and the female buries her clutch of eggs (5-10) in whatever's handy. ============== I. The Hugag's most noticeable feature is that its legs have no joints below the shoulder/hips, and this forces them to walk with a peculiar stiff legged gait. Thir pendulous lips hang down low enough that they actually prohibit the Hugag from grazing from the ground. In fact the only food it seems to be able to manage are the knots from pine trees. They have fed on these so long that pine pitch oozes from the pores of the creature and it has grown a coat of pine needles rather than fur. Because of this saturation of pine pitch, the meat of the Hugag is inedible, and the leather is much more difficult to cure. The creature can only be found in the piney woods of North America. Since the Hugag has no joints in its legs, it is forced to sleep leaning up against trees. ============== I. Each Mountain has only one type, a right or left handed type. Their long bushy tail has two claw hooks on it, to help hold on and stead it during its passage across the mountains. It spits clay pellets or stones from its mouth to kill its prey. Its smallish forepaws are useful in combat, but other than that are fairly useless, as it bipedally sprints along. =============== I. While it is actually a sort of whale, it can often develop a turtle-like "shell" of dirt, and debris. The mouth of the Fastitocalon is 300 meters wide and opens to 100 meters high. They will quite often swallow large solid objects such as boulders, ships, etc, that wind up in the creature's "Gullet"/airsack where they are eventually crushed for further digestion, by the constant movement of stones/wreckage, what have you.
