Hello, I'd like to welcome you and introduce
myself, I'm Marc's ongoing nightmare - sometimes called
his "Homepage". I'm a work in progress, and he continues to add
things to me as he has time and inclination. Recently he's made some major
changes to the philosophic layout of the page - starting with the fact that he
has to keep moving between various computers at home and at work constantly -
therefore he's hit on the cunning plan to place all the basic tools and
bookmarks he needs to function on his home page, and then make THAT his default
page for all the computers he logs into. As someone described it - setting
up the home page for HIS convenience rather than the convenience of people who
happen to pass by. All the informative stuff is still there and available, but you are now even LESS likely to run into frivolous fru-fru cluttering up the page. If you are interested in seeing the recent changes to this site, the What's New page may be handy to you (or not as Marc is truly pathetic about updating it) If you wish, you may read more about Marc here. In short terms, however, Marc is a fussy retentive who researches history and religion for relaxation. He is far more interested in looking for the Truth, and examining beliefs, both his, and others, than he is in coddling myths hiding under the guise of "facts". Myths are good, myths are useful. Myths aren't facts. Anyway, Other, older, things you may be more interested in seeing, however, include a work called Footwear of the Middle Ages, one called Some Clothing of the Middle Ages, Leather Working in the Middle Ages, and one with the rousing title of Using and Working with Horn. Marc does some really strange and boring things that have to do with history and religion and stuff, including some boring Historical Stuff, some Religious Stuff (since this IS the Internet, this includes some of that ubiquitous neoPagan Stuff), a Kalender of Medieval Saints, which is just an early version of his English Medieval Calender page. On the other hand, the Timeline of a Mysterious Universe is probably more interesting to some. You should probably be aware that like many things Marc does, most of these are ongoing projects and so they are neither terribly neat, nor are they utterly complete. Marc has also collected some interesting material on historical witches and witch-trials (don't ask me why he does these things -- other homepages get nudie pictures and stuff, I get stuff like this). You should probably be aware that like many things Marc does, this is an ongoing project and so is neither terribly neat, nor is it utterly complete -- many people are still missing from the lists. There is also a little, fairly useless Genealogy stuff. Oh, and there is some material about some guy named Diarmuit/Diarmaid/Dermit here. You might also be interested in Marc's timelines of various Science Fiction universes (Specifically, Babylon 5 and Larry Niven's Known Space), Highlander, X-Files/Millennium/Strange Luck, as well as some stuff for RP Gaming. Please come back soon and visit me, as things should be changing around here as soon as Marc gets around to it, and more importantly, it gets REALLY lonely around here when he forgets about me for weeks and months at a time... |
