SHOES OF QUEEN ANNE
This pair of shoes, said to have belonged to Queen Anne, is extremely elegant and neat; the material of which they are made is sky-blue satin, entirely without ornamentation; the heels, which are covered with the same material, are of wood, and are 2 inches high; the latchets are wide and fastened across the insteps by the original gilt metal buckles. The entire length of the shoes from toe to heel is 8½ inches, and they are the property of Mrs. Simpson Carson.
A BEAUTIFUL pair of eighteenth-century shoes of crimson velvet embroidered with gold.
THE clogs belonging to the above. In the Northampton Museum.
